Dr Mauro Gilli is a Professor of Military Strategy and Technology at the Hertie School and previously served as a Senior Researcher in Military Technology and International Security at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zürich). His distinguished academic path includes a postdoctoral fellowship at Dartmouth College, a PhD from Northwestern University, and research positions that have led to his work being published in leading journals such as International Security and the Journal of Strategic Studies. Dr Gilli’s research focuses on the complexities of military-technological competition and strategic rivalry, particularly the industrial and technical barriers to military innovation.
